Netflix shares new Don't Look Up posters featuring the cast. Don't Look Up is a satirical black comedy written and directed by Adam McKay, who previously helmed The Big Short, which earned him a Best Director Oscar nomination and a win for Best Adapted Screenplay. The cast is stacked with award-winning talent, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Jonah Hill, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Cate Blanchett, and Meryl Streep. The plot follows DiCaprio and Lawrence's low-level astronomers who embark on a media tour to warn mankind about an approaching comet that will destroy Earth, only to be met with an absurd lack of concern.
In two Twitter posts, Netflix revealed twelve new character posters for Don't Look Up. Each poster features a single cast member looking up with the incoming comet reflected in their eyes or on their glasses, in an amusing contradiction of the film's title. Check out the new Don't Look Up posters below:
Don't Look Up is already receiving significant awards season buzz, which is often the case when talented actors like DiCaprio and Streep, among others in the cast, are involved with a project. DiCaprio's performance, in particular, seems to be catching a lot of attention, with Blanchett said to be one of the more impressive supporting roles. There is also talk that McKay could earn nominations for Best Screenplay and Best Director. Audiences can catch Don't Look Up in select theaters starting December 10th. It will then have its streaming debut on Netflix on December 24th.
